How to record and edit Minecraft videos for YouTube (FREE)

In this post, I will teach you guys how to record and edit your own Minecraft videos to post on YouTube. I will be recording a video version of this blog and it will be posted on our blog YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCniwtvRBzC79M9foO8q9ZJQ or search up "Minecraft Blog - By Creeper Cactus and SwordsDude670)

1. Download a Screen Recorder, install it, and run it. In this example, I use Ezvid (www.ezvid.com)

2. Turn off Fullscreen in Minecraft

3. In Ezvid, delete the frame already in the timeline (this is the Ezvid example)

4. On the left of Ezvid, select a music track. Select "Silent Machine" if you want to talk in your video

5. Click on "Start Capture Now"

6. Click on "Use Advanced Settings"

7. If you are going to be talking in your video, set "Microphone Capture" or "Headset Mode" to "Enabled" - this depends on your mic on which one you will enable, test both out to make sure

8. Click on "Select Capture Area" and set it to "Enabled"

9. If you want a webcam, set "Capture Webcam" to "Enabled" - this is optional

-Note- Videos will be ~150MB/minute

10. Click on "Start Advanced Capture Now"

11. Click and hold left click at the top left hand corner of your Minecraft window, drag your mouse to the bottom right hand corner and release the left click button

12. After a short countdown, the recording will begin and a control panel will appear (this panel will include a button to pause, stop, or draw on the recording)

13. Play Minecraft as you would do, Ezvid will be recording your game

14. After you have finished recording, press "Stop" on the control panel

15. Ezvid will process the recording and put it on the timeline for editing. Here you can add things using the tools (e.g. "Add Text" tool)

16. After editing, click the "Play" button to preview your video. Add a name and description in the top left

17. Once you have filled in the details, click "Upload to YouTube" in the bottom right - as this is your first time using Ezvid, you will need to sign into your YouTube/Google account

-Note- if you wish to find the videos after you have closed Ezvid, you can find them in: My Documents -> EZVid -> Projects. These videos will be in WMV format, which YouTube supposrts incase you need to reupload a video

Tips:

-Plan your videos (length, plan of what to do in video, what would you want to see in your video if you were a viewer)

-If the recording or Minecraft becomes jerky, laggy, or unresponsive, lower some details in Minecraft by pressing Esc (while in-game) and clicking on Options

-Some survival tasks in Minecraft take a long time and are usually boring to watch (e.g digging into a hillside to make a house), so click pause on the Ezvid control panel, do the boring work (but remember to say something like "I'm just going to...I will be right back after I am done" then pause the recording), then press play and continue with your video (but when you press play, maybe say something like "Alright, so guys, I have finished.... so now lets..."

-When you start recording, make a quick intro at the beginning to interest your viewers so they don't click off the video. (maybe try saying your goals for the video or saying what you are going to be doing in the video)
